Not only do I like to be in the company of quilters but also with other "fibre artists". Last weekend there was a wonderful gathering at the Atlantica Hotel and Marina Oak Island, just a hop, skip and a jump from where I live! Ten of us from a group known locally as the "Quilt Mafia" booked rooms at the hotel and we were able to all sit togetherin the "work" room. There were rug hookers, spinners, knitters, felters, stitchers and of course quilters. The room was a beehive of activitiy. Lots of visiting to see what everyone was doing and lots of sharing of information.
We had lots of room and were able to spread out, the chairs wre comfy and there were big windows on all three sides of the room. We made new friends and reconnected with old friends. All in all it was a relaxing, productive and fun weekend. We are all booked in for next year!
